THE SPIRIT OF FARER

If there is one watch that truly represents the real spirit of Farer it would be a GMT. After all, a wayfarer, a seafarer or a farfarer is someone who travels and explores. We have combined our British design personality with the most robust Swiss build quality and precise manufacturing processes - to deliver a beautiful, but functional collection of watches that stand out in any time zone.

A TRAVELLERS COMPANION

The GMT function dates back to 1884 when an international convention declared Greenwich, England as the ‘Mean Time’ against which the rest of the world’s time zones would be compared. The ‘local’ hour/minute hands work on 12-hour time, while the ‘dual time’ GMT hand is independently adjustable to set to any 24-hour time zone.

EFFORTLESSLY ELEGANT

EFFORTLESSLY ELEGANT

The case of the GMT makes use of elegant curves and a mix of brushed and polished surfaces that result in a refined, easy-to-wear silhouette, which is the perfect housing for our classic GMT collection. Our GMT watches are available in two sizes, 39.5mm and 36mm, and combined with a thickness of only 11mm, this makes our GMTs perfectly proportioned for most people’s wrists. To complement the streamlined domed bezel and case sides, the watch has an anti-reflective boxed sapphire crystal that provides some wonderful distortion when you view the dial at an angle. However, it’s not all about the aesthetics, and each case is made from 316L marine-grade stainless steel and is water-resistant to 100m, providing a level of durability expected in a watch meant for travel.

“The beauty of Farer lies in the fact that they are very different from other watches on the market today.”

Through the sapphire case back you can see the movement powering each GMT, which is the Sellita SW330-2. This automatic calibre is known for its reliability and it features 25 jewels, a beat rate of 4Hz, and a 56-hour power reserve. Furthermore, the GMTs use the Top Grade version of the movement, which means that it’s been adjusted for accuracy in five positions. As you watch the movement tick away, you can also admire the custom skeletonised rotor and perlage finish on the bridgework.
