This iconic model has been a staple of the Farer catalogue for many years, and it’s not hard to see why. The triple-stepped dial is an iridescent sea green with a sunburst finish that captivates you with how the light plays across its surface. And, naturally, the date window is colour-matched to the main dial colour. On top of this are printed crisp white Arabic numerals, which are paired with a silver syringe handset, and both are applied with Super-LumiNova. The seconds hand is a burnt orange colour and is tipped with the Farer logo. Meanwhile, the GMT function enables the wearer to track a second time zone, and it comprises of a bright red GMT hand coupled with a 24-hour scale printed outside the hour markers.
This mesmerizing dial is protected by a box sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating and housed within an elegant 39.5mm stainless steel case that has a capable 100m of water resistance. Furthermore, this 39.5mm version of the Lander now features a re-engineered case that now has a screw-down crown and is also now a monobloc construction so that the movement holder is now the main body of the case, rather than a separate piece. One Dial, Two Time Zones - The Lander is equipped with a GMT function, which allows the wearer to track a second time zone.
Hydrophobic - The Lander is water-resistant to 100m thanks to a screw-down crown and a monobloc construction mid-case which incorporates the movement holder into the main body of the case, rather than as a separate piece.
Night Light - The hands, hour markers, and 24-hour scale all have an application of Super-LumiNova to ensure that they're as legible in the dark as they are during the day.
Reliable Mechanics - Powering this GMT is the Sellita SW330-2 automatic movement. This dependable calibre beats at a smooth rate of 28,800 bph (4Hz), contains 25 jewels and has a 56-hour power reserve. What’s more, this is the 'Top Grade' version of the SW330, so it’s been adjusted for accuracy in 5 positions.
Universal Case - The case is 39.5mm in diameter, with a 45mm lug-to-lug and a thickness of only 10.8mm, making it easy for anyone to wear.
Story
Named after Richard Lander – the son of a Cornish innkeeper born in 1804. His career started in 1825 on an expedition to West Africa where he became the only surviving European member to return home alive. He then bravely went back to what is now present-day Nigeria in search of finding a trading settlement on the River Niger.
