SATURATED BLUE SUNRAY
First Launched: 2019
The dial of the Aldrich World Timer is intricate in form, layering multiple levels of complex information in a single, elegant dial design. The base of the dial is formed by sections of saturated blue sunray, which draw the eye for a closer look. Raised, highly polished batons and numerals match the highly polished steel-edged alpha hands, infilled with mint green Grade A Super-LumiNova. The central engraved map in contrasting tones of blue provides the main focal point and is surrounded by a universal hour disk, separated into 24-hours. Framing the main dial is an internal bezel, finished in silk blue with key city markings overprinted in red and powder blue.
The Farer World Timer 39mm case is a slick fit on any wrist, crafted from 316L stainless steel and with a case profile of just 11mm. The top domed sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective treatment is held by an outer brushed bezel, fitted to the highly-polished case with outline edges and micro-blasted side cut-ins that follow the shape of the dropped lugs. A distinctive case design with dual crowns, the main crown (controlling time, date and universal 24-hour disk) is finished in solid stainless steel and inset with our trademark Farer bronze detail. Whereas the offset crown is formed of solid stainless steel and features the embossed World Timer marque (controlling the inner bezel to set the 24 time zones).
NEARLY NEW - This watch is a “nearly new’ unit from our archive. As a result, it may have minor marks on the case. It has been carefully inspected and fully tested and comes with our full five-year movement guarantee.
PLEASE NOTE: These Aldrich units have a slight printing error where the markings on the city bezel are slightly misaligned with the dial.
FEATURES
Crystal Clear - The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal with an internal anti-reflective coating. There's also a flat sapphire exhibition glass on the case back.
Super-LumiNova - The dial and hands of the Aldrich feature heavy applications of luminous Super-LumiNova so that you can read the time under any circumstances.
Swiss Movement - The Aldrich uses a Swiss-made ETA 2893-1 Elaboré automatic movement. This calibre has 21 jewels and a 48-hour power reserve.
STORY
Named after Royal Navy officer and explorer, Pelham Aldrich. Born in 1844, Aldrich entered the Navy as a cadet and eventually rose through the ranks until he was appointed as an admiral. He took part in the Challenger Expedition that laid the foundations for the future British Antarctica expedition. As such, Mount Aldrich in Antarctica was named after him - a gesture of thanks from Robert Scott for his help in preparing Scot’s famous Antarctic expedition.
