The Aurora features a stunning copper dial with a mesmerising flinqué guilloché finish, which is coated in a clear lacquer to give the dial an extra sense of depth. Mounted onto this are Lumicast numerals, a blend of Super-LumiNova and ceramic, which are overprinted in black. These are enclosed by a black minute track along their outer edge and a matching black ring on their inner. The tapered hands are a rich gloss black to match the dial print, and the sleek hour and minute hands are filled with X2 Super-LumiNova to match the luminous numerals. Meanwhile, the seconds hand has the Farer ‘A’ at its tip.
Other small details include small lume plots along the minute track, an applied arrow marker above the Farer name, and “UNIVERSAL” above 6 o’clock. This latter detail is a reference to the fact that our watches are meant for everyone to enjoy.

FEATURES
Tantalising Textures - The dial is a complex blend of colours and textures crafted using a multi-stage process. First, the pattern is pressed onto the dial. Then it is painted with layers of different colours to create rich shades and gradients. Next, it's coated in a clear lacquer that's then polished to a mirror finish. The result is a dial that has a unique depth and richness that’s truly captivating.
Weekend Warrior - The watch is powered by a La Joux-Perret G101 movement. This automatic Swiss calibre comes with an impressive 68-hour power reserve. It is finished to La Joux-Perret's "soignée" standard, the highest grade of their calibre, which is adjusted to 4 positions.
Night Light - Not only are the hands filled with luminous Grade X2 Super-LumiNova, but the applied numerals are moulded from solid blocks of X2 Super-LumiNova. Together, these provide unparalleled legibility in the dark.
Crystal Clear - The watch dial is protected by a domed box sapphire crystal, which has an internal anti-reflective coating. There is also a sapphire exhibition glass on the watch's rear.
Hydrophobic - The Aurora is water-resistant to 100m thanks to a screw-down crown and a monobloc construction mid-case which incorporates the movement holder into the main body of the case, rather than as a separate piece.
STORY
The watch is named after the SY Aurora, a steam yacht that served as an Antarctic expedition vessel from 1911 to 1917. During that time, it made five trips to the continent, participating in both exploration and rescue missions. Notably, the Aurora took part in Sir Ernest Shackleton’s 1914 Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition, during which it became trapped in ice for nearly a year from 1915 to 1916. In 1917, the ship was sent to rescue the Ross Sea party, where it successfully recovered the seven surviving members of the original ten. Later that year, the ship was lost at sea and is believed to have struck a mine.
