PINK PATTERNS

The Furneaux delivers a hit of playful colour in a sleek, wearable 35mm case. The dial has a unique texture that produces a myriad of raspberry pink shades. The sophisticated pattern is achieved through a multi-stage process that uses a variety of techniques. First, the dial is pressed with the unique texture, then it is spun whilst multiple coats of paint are applied. The centrifugal force created by the spinning pushes the paint to the edges, creating a colour gradient that draws your attention to the centre of the dial. Finally, a clear lacquer is applied to the dial and polished to a glossy finish. It’s this time-consuming process that gives the dial its jewel-like brilliance, which makes it the perfect backdrop for the polished numerals and batons. These are paired with an alpha handset with a matching mirror polish, whilst the seconds hand has a pink Farer ‘A’ at its tip. These minimalist hands and markers offer excellent legibility, lighting up when their reflective surfaces catch the light, without distracting from the eye-catching beauty of the textured dial.

FEATURES

Perfect Patterns - The dial has a complex, deep texture and colour. It's crafted using a multi-stage process. First, the pattern is pressed onto the dial. Then it is painted with layers of different colours to create rich shades and gradients. Next, it's coated in a clear lacquer that's then polished to a mirror finish. The result is a dial that has a unique depth and richness that’s truly captivating.

Curvaceous Comfort - The cushion case sits comfortably on any wrist, with a thickness of only 10.5mm and a compact lug-to-lug of 43.8mm.

Manual Drive - The watches in the 35mm Cushion Case collection are powered by Swiss hand-wound mechanical movements with custom decoration, which can be viewed through a sapphire case back.

STORY

The Furneaux is named after Captain Tobias Furneaux. Born in 1735, he was a navigator and Royal Navy officer who accompanied Captain Cook on his second voyage to circumnavigate the Earth.  During which he explored Tasmania and made the earliest British chart of the island. He would also return to Britain accompanied by Omai of Ulaietea, the first South Sea Islander to travel to Great Britain. Lastly, the Furneaux scorpionfish, Scorpaenopsis furneauxi, is named after the captain.
