BIG BLUE

First Launched: 2020

The Hecla Titanium's deep blue dial is micro-engraved with our signature submersible wave design, framed by a halo of inset burnished steel. Surrounding the floating dial is the unidirectional internal rotating bezel, finished in navy blue and quickly adjusted with the second screw-down crown. Align with the beacon red, oversized split minute hand, to allow easy reading of elapsed dive time through the multi-layer anti-reflection glass. The bold but refined colour palette of the Hecla Titanium Series continues with the navy blue sweep second hand, tipped with sky blue Super-LumiNova for contrast.

NEARLY NEW - This watch is a “nearly new’ unit from our archive. As a result, it may have minor marks on the case. It has been carefully inspected and fully tested and comes with our full five-year movement guarantee.

FEATURES

Compression Innovation - Just like vintage EPSA super compressors, the Aqua Compressor case uses the pressure of the water to compress the gaskets sealing the watch, thus increasing the watch's water resistance the deeper it goes.

Light & Strong - The case of the Aqua Compressor is crafted from grade 2 titanium and is remarkably light, weighing just 62g. It measures 41mm in diameter, with a 45mm lug-to-lug, and is just 12.5mm thick.

Twin Crowns - The Aqua Compressors feature the twin crowns that are a signature of compressor dive watches. Both crowns feature a crosshatch pattern, and the top bronze crown features the Farer logo. The bottom crown operates the bezel, and the top sets the time.

Luminous Quality - The Aqua Compressor features a generous application of Super-LumiNova across the hands, hour markers, and bezel, ensuring it's readable in any light.

STORY

Named after HMS Hecla, a Royal Navy bomb vessel launched in 1815. Like many other British bomb vessels, she was named after a volcano, in this case Hekla in Iceland. She originally served at the Bombardment of Algiers, in a bid to end the slavery practices of Omar Agha. In 1819, she was modified to serve as an Arctic exploration ship, making three journeys in search of the icy Northwest Passage and one unsuccessful attempt on the North Pole, before being retired from service in 1827.
